Classic Apple Prints

Fall is here! While it doesn't feel like the autumn I grew up with on the East coast where we made applesauce from the apples in our own backyard -- I still have a hankering for warm sweet treats like baked apples or homemade apple pie this time of year.

BOOKS: Ten Apples Up On Top! by Dr. Seuss is a fun one for my toddler and preschooler who enjoy practicing their counting. We also like the simplicity of Under the Apple Tree by Steve Metzger, which describes the activities of young boy's day playing around his apple tree. And Apple Pie Tree by Zoe Hall is also a nice read that highlights the seasonal changes of an apple tree.

ACTIVITY: Apple Prints
This is an easy one, but so much fun. Just take an apple and cut it in half. Dip the flat side of the apple into tempera paint and stamp onto your paper.
